It’s lovely to see Guerilla Archaeology featured in Deer, the magazine of the British Deer Society!

Our work with red deer brings together archaeology, traditional craft skills and contemporary relationships between people and animals. Antler working offers a particularly hands-on way of exploring these connections, linking thousands of years of archaeological evidence with the skills of makers today.
We’re especially pleased to celebrate our antler craft community in the Scottish Isles, where local makers are continuing to share, develop and pass on their skills.
What began through collaborative workshops is continuing to grow, with makers producing and selling their own work, both locally and online.
You can see an example of their work on Etsy.
The full article appears in Deer magazine, which is available to British Deer Society members. Although we can’t reproduce it here, we’re delighted to share the publication and celebrate the people whose enthusiasm and creativity keep these skills alive.
