Award nomination

Shortlisted for Archaeological Achievement Award!

We are thrilled to share that Guerilla Archaeology has been shortlisted in the Engagement and Participation category of this year’s Archaeological Achievement Awards!

Since 2011, our collective of archaeologists, artists, scientists, and volunteers has been taking archaeology out of traditional settings and into festivals, heritage sites, community hubs, and even shopping centres.

From Neolithic feasts and Bog Body beauty parlours to antler craft workshops in the Outer Hebrides, our hands-on, creative activities aim to make the past playful, thought-provoking, and inclusive for everyone.

This shortlisting recognises not only our innovative approach to public engagement but also the hard work and creativity of the Guerilla Archaeology team, our students, alumni, volunteers, and partners across the UK.

It’s a testament to the impact of bringing archaeology to unexpected places and audiences.

We are honoured to be recognised alongside many other inspiring projects.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed to our journey—this achievement belongs to all of you!
